How can I borrow/return books from the library?

Answer

There are two options to borrow books:

  1. ask a librarian at circulation desk to help you - 2/3 floors
  2. use self-service stations in the shelves areas or at the entrance to the reading rooms on 2/3 floors.

Notes:

  • textbooks are issued in the beginning of the semester based on Course reserves (expect library announcement with the dates and venue).
  • you need to have with you your university ID card, which is also your library card.
  • make sure that you have no books overdue, otherwise, you will not be able to borrow.

You can return books via self-service stations or Book drop machines located on the 1st floor of the Library near the Security desk. Also you can return books at the Circulation desks on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Notes:

  • some library items such as CDs/DVDs, newspapers and magazines, board games, e-readers, calculators, Short loan books and Expensive books must be returned to the correct Circulation desk, which is where you originally borrowed the item from.

NOTE. Self-service stations and Book drop machines are not operational at the moment due to software updates. The Library will inform NU community as soon as they start operating.
